COCHABAMBA CITY TOUR

PROGRAM:
  • 08:00 Pick up from “Hotel Cochabamba”.
  • 08:30 Visit to the historic center of Cochabamba, tour of the Main Plaza “14 de Septiembre” (September 14), which is the only one in Bolivia that has 4 galleries.
  • Entrance to the Metropolitan Cathedral. Its official name is the Metropolitan Cathedral of San Sebastián and it is located on the south side of the Plaza 14 de Septiembre, being considered a National Monumental, Historical, Cultural and Architectural Heritage since 1967. It was built at the beginning of 18th century on ancient existing temples of the XV and XVII centuries. The construction was commissioned to the engineer Domingo del Mazo, made with lime, sand and stone and the works were finished, although not completely, in 1630.
  • Walk through the “Pasaje Artesanal del correo” (Craft Passage), where you can see shops and booths of typical Bolivian handicrafts, until you reach the Plaza del Granado where the convent is located.
  • 09:30 Visit to the Santa Teresa Convent Museum, museum of sacred art of the Discalced Carmelite Order of the Archbishopric of Cochabamba. The Santa Teresa Convent was one of the first monasteries of religious life to be built in Cochabamba, it was inaugurated in 1760 with an Italian Baroque style. The Convent and Museum were declared a National Historical, Cultural and Architectural Heritage Site in 2012.
  • Car ride tough the different squares, walks and parks.
  • 11:00 Ascent to the Cristo de la Concordia, the largest Crist statue in the world, located at the top of San Pedro hill, with an incredible view of the entire city.
  • 12:30 Drop off in “Hotel Cochabamba”. End of our services.
